Or are there other guidelines I should be looking for? Should I be looking for just any dual-core router, cross-referencing with the forum for dd-wrt compatibility? So what guidelines should I be looking for in a router? I don't mind shopping around and looking for the best deal. I would seriously suggest getting a dual-core router such as a Netgear R7800: īummer. Don't expect much more than that though, 50MiB/s through a VPN is not possible on that router. If you are OK with ~20MiB/s download and upload speed, through the VPN, then by all means the router will do fine. I would not expect it to be able to handle even a 1080p video without lag over VPN.
